Vinh Long Food To Go
As a local food enthusiast, my visit to Vinh Long Food To Go at 4575 El Cajon Blvd #B, San Diego, CA 92115 left a lasting impression. Nestled in the vibrant Little Saigon district, this cozy, family-owned spot offers an authentic taste of Vietnamese comfort food in a no-frills, down-to-earth setting.
One standout from the vinh long food to go menu was the Crab-Base Noodle Soup (bún riêu). The broth was rich and savory with fresh crab and subtle tomato flavors that made every bite deeply satisfying. The Savory Mini Pancakes (bánh khọt) were another highlight—crispy on the outside, soft inside, and perfectly paired with a tangy dipping sauce. These dishes captured the street-food spirit of Vietnam in the best possible way.
The Butter & Garlic Escargot was unexpectedly impressive, with its bold garlic flavor and tender texture. It's a dish that could easily be served at a fine dining restaurant, yet here it feels like part of a comforting, home-cooked meal. The Water Spinach Noodle Soup was fresh and aromatic, a lighter option that didn’t sacrifice depth of flavor. For starters, the Spring Rolls were fresh and tightly wrapped, with a nice balance of herbs and meat.
Although the restaurant is modest in size with limited seating, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Staff were attentive, and service was quick despite a steady flow of customers. The food is prepared with care and arrives piping hot, which enhances the overall dining experience. With most menu items priced under $20, it’s an affordable choice for high-quality Vietnamese cuisine.
Whether you’re stopping by for dine-in or grabbing something from the vinh long food to go selection, this spot offers great value and flavor. The vinh long food to go photos displayed on the wall and in-store menu showcase their vibrant, appetizing dishes—just a preview of what you’ll get.
Vinh Long Food To Go Reviews
Vinh Long Food To Go offers a delightful culinary experience with their very good butter garlicy escargots and tasty bun rieu filled with generous crab portions. Despite the small interior, the delicious food makes the wait worthwhile. I appreciate the flavors and look forward to returning.
I remember stopping by this place while we were on a family trip down to San Diego. We did a very long walk that day in the sun so most of the family was passed out and didn't want to go out to eat. Ifound this spot that was rated really well and looked like a solid hole in the wall just down the street from our air bnb. I had to use google translate on their menu and their english wasn't really good, but they were very friendly. Several items we wanted ended up being sold out but we gathered a good deal of items to try. I remember trying to go nearby to pickup onchoy and noticed everything else was closed, so they open later than nearby options as well. Price was fair, portions were quite good, taste was solid!
SO frickin good! Love this place. In the daytime this is a ready-made food place where you choose from what they have prepared. By night Tuesday-Sat, it's a made-to-order restaurant from 5-10pm. We've only been at night so far and it's so tasty. The Banh xeo (Vietnamese crepe) is so good here. I'd definitely recommend eating it in instead of takeout because when served fresh it's so crisp on the outside and moist in the middle. Love the filling, love the sauce. They give a good amount of lettuce and mint to wrap with. The pho ga (chicken pho) is really good too. Flavorful, aromatic, nicely seasoned. Total comfort food. We've also had the long ga (chicken porridge), banh khot (mini savory pancakes), rice noodle soup, bun rieu (crab noodle soup) and hainanese chicken rice. Just about everything has been very yummy and hits the spot. I will say that the hainanese chicken wasn't bad but the rice could've been more flavorful and the chicken could've been more moist. I've had better so I don't think I'd personally order that again. Service is great too. A chill little spot with fantastic Vietnamese food.
Cheap authentic Vietnamese food for a great portion of food. My favorite things to get here are the Banh Khot, Banh Xeo, and the Rice porridge, but everything I've tried here is good. Service is fast and quick, and they have a couple of tables for you to sit at. This place mostly caters towards to go orders due to the limited amount of seating, and even when they're busy, they bring you your food in under 10 minutes. Most of their menu is in Vietnamese so I normally just pick my food with their picture menu.
This place is still one of my favorite places to go if you miss the 8pm "we're closed signs." This place will still pull through for you! I got the snails (garlicky, buttery and served with a side of Vietnamese herbs). Also got the tried and true pork vermicelli bowl with egg rolls. All the veggies, noodles and sauces were on point. Egg roll was a little let down but nothing can compare to a chau just blocks over.
What a delicious hidden gem in City Heights! Seriously! If you don't know where it is, you are missing out! One of my friends told me about this place and I had to try! But you have to get there early, because they do run out of things. I love their noodles! Great flavor with vegetable and tofu! I'm trying to eat healthy. They also have some sweets like sesame balls with black bean paste. The man working behind the counter is really nice! He knows what I want when I walk in...and some mornings, if I get there around 10, he shakes his head, and I have to get something else. Cash only. I REPEAT CASH ONLY!
If you want authentic Vietnamese food, this is the place to go after 5pm. They have variety of food that you can order. We have banh xeo, banh khot, Oc Huong, canh bun and com bo nuong and everything is great. Banh xeo and banh khot is crunchy and dipping sauce is great. Canh bun is ok with a lot of toppings There are tables for you to sit inside. Good customer service.
Our group came here for dinner today after other planned restaurants closed. The foods are yummy, authentic with very good price (no pricy at all) Lots of choices for our craving of Vietnamese food-street. My favorite here is for the snails/shells (ốc hương/chem chép nướng), canh bún, red bean porridge (cháo đậu đỏ) Tonight first time I tried the white bean dessert here (not in my picture), have not had that dessert for awhile, it was in a big cup and they cook pretty fresh hot... Staffs were very friendly and nice. **Bring cash here coz they only take cash
Authentic Vietnamese food. 10/10 recommend. Hole in the wall spot and so delicious. I love that this place is family owned and the food portions are perfect.
